This annual award recognizes an article published in the Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education that is a significant contribution to the field of water resources research, policy, and/or education. A committee of UCOWR Board members and JCWRE Associate Editors evaluate article excellence based on originality, clarity, and application. All articles published within a calendar year are automatically considered and the award recipient will be announced the following February. The winner will be presented a plaque during the banquet Wednesday, June 4, at the 2025 UCOWR/NIWR Annual Water Resources Conference, being held June 3 – June 5, 2025, Minneapolis, MN, at the Graduate Hotel.
