Each Spring, UCOWR organizes the Saluki Water Workshop for High School students from nearby communities. This workshop allows students to explore the water resources field as a potential career.
During the workshop, students:
- participate in interactive water resources workshops from different disciplines such as Forestry, Engineering, Geology, Geography, Fisheries, Zoology, and Fermentation Science
- meet water resources faculty and researchers
- learn more about the many fields working in water
- connect with current undergraduates studying water resources
The 2026 Saluki Water Workshop was held at Southern Illinois University on April 16, 2026. UCOWR welcomed more than 120 students from six southern Illinois area high schools.
