Graduate study and research in water resources may be pursued in several fields at the University of Arizona. Within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences the Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics, the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the School of Renewable Natural Resources (watershed management and natural resource studies), and the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science all offer both M.S. and Ph.D. programs in water or water-related fields. The Department of Civil Engineering Mechanics and the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources (surface water hydrology, groundwater hydrology, water quality, and water resources systems analysis) offer programs at both levels within the College of Engineering and Mines. The Department of Geography, the Department of Geosciences (hydrogeology) and the Department of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Public Administration and Policy in the College of Business and Public Administration also offer water-related graduate studies. Interdisciplinary programs are offered in the fields of Arid Land Studies and Water Resources Administration (water resources planning and policy analysis).
