Position: Assistant Professor of Geology (Groundwater Hydrogeology)
Department: Geography and Geology
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
The ideal candidates will have the interest and ability to teach core intro classes in Physical Geology and Natural Hazards, as well as upper-level Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology courses. The position will serve in a leadership role in the nascent, interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences degree. Ideally, the successful candidate would serve as the primary advisor/coordinator for the Environmental Sciences degree and must have a commitment to a high quality undergraduate teaching program that values both field and laboratory instruction, involve undergraduate students in research, and the ability to work with a diverse student body.
Educational Requirements for the Position:
Candidate must have a Ph.D. in Geology field.
Experience Required for the position:
Preference given to previous college-level teaching experience. Ability to develop a strong independent research program.
