Graduate studies in water resources at the University of Tennessee are found in many departments. Graduate degrees are awarded (a) in the graduate program in Ecology (M.S. and Ph.D.) and (b) by the Departments of Agricultural & Resource Economics, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geography, and Plant Sciences. The Water Resources Research Center works with these programs and departments in research, seminars and other related facets of water resources. Graduate teaching and research assistants are available in the various departments and programs for students interested in water resources. In addition, internships are available through the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment (ISSE), one of the state-funded Centers of Excellence located at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
