Graduate work leading to a Masters or Ph.D. degree is offered in the Department of Environmental Sciences, with course work and graduate research tailored to students' individual goals and needs.

This program focuses on agricultural and environmental aspects of land, air and water science. The Department has major research programs underway in biodegradation and bioremediation of contaminated soils and water resources, chemical and pathogen transport and fate in soils and ground water, reactions of chemicals in soil and in the atmosphere, volatilization of chemicals from soil, land disposal of waste, economics of salinity and drainage problems in salt-affected soils, and economics of water management in California.
