The City University of New York offers graduate work in water resources in the Departments of Architecture and Environmental Studies, Biology and Chemistry, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Economics, and Civil Engineering. Specializations within these departments include aquatic biology and ecology, geology, hydrogeology, hydraulics, hydrology, water chemistry, water quality control, water resource systems and management and others. The work may lead to a degree of Master of Science in all of these departments, and to the Doctor of Philosophy degree in all except Earth and Planetary Sciences and Architecture. Interdisciplinary programs in water resources which are structured to the goals and the needs of individual students are also available. Research facilities include laboratories of chemistry, geology, fluid mechanics, and environmental engineering.
